Crab Apple Cottage is situated in beautiful rural Breconshire, close to the Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains, Hay-on-Wye, Brecon, Llangorse Lake and Talgarth. Wonderful views and local walks and great for mountain-biking, pony-trekking, canoeing and lots more.
The cottage has consistently received 5 star reviews on Trip Advisor as well as retaining Airbnb "Superhost" status over the past five years. We were awarded the "Certificate of Excellence" by Trip Advisor in 2018 and this was confirmed again for 2019. It has also maintained its 4 star rating with Visit Wales since opening its doors just over six years ago.
Given the current COV19 virus restrictions, THE COTTAGE WILL BE CLOSED TO BOOKINGS FOR THE DURATION.
PLEASE SEE THE NOTE ON THE "AVAILABILITY and PRICES" PAGE.
The cottage is well equipped, with TV (Freesat), DVD, ceramic hob and fan-assisted oven, fridge with small freezer compartment, micro-wave, washing machine and all the usual bits and pieces to make the kitchen work a little better.
It has broadband and WiFi, both with good speeds.
Comfortable living space and well-equipped kitchen.
The bathroom is en-suite and has a thermostatically controlled shower over the bath. All heating is electric and is included, together with hot water. Bed linen (cotton naturally) and towels are all provided.
The property was completed in October 2013, so all the equipment is reasonably new. Electrical items get replaced on a regular basis. A new, deeper mattress was bought for the double bed in 2019.
Maps, guides and books are provided to help guests choose walks and places to see and visit. If recommendations are needed for places to eat or drink or suggestions on local walks and places to visit, Sue or Nick can usually be found nearby at "Newhouse" and would be very pleased to help.
In the summer, a barbecue is available for the use of guests.
Great cycling and biking country!
We can provide lock-up storage for bicycles (at owner’s risk) and bike washing facilities are available on request.
There are lots of local walks to choose from, as well as more serious treks on the Beacons and the Black Mountains.
